When I set this blog up I wanted to test a strategy for getting the blog indexed in as many search engines as possible as quickly as possible. Im not saying this is the best way to do it, it’s one of many ways, and it seems to have yeilded acceptable results.

Methods:

Set up your blog.
Link to your blog from every asset and blogging outpost that you can. In this case I just used the successful thinkers forum and the Arden Arcade Successful Thinkers Bloggers Lounge. (Invite other bloggers to guest post if they like).
Submit your site to google.com and google blogs.
Submit your site to pingomatic.com

Results:

blog was indexed in google in a matter of hours.
blog was indexed in Bing.com within 48 hour*

Continued to add content and alert ping-0-matic whenever new posts were created.

1 Week Note: After a week this blog fell off of the bing.com search. Not sure why but will check back in a few days to see if it pops up again. All pages are indexed in google.com.

Also, no traction yet on the keyword “Successful Thinkers”. I’m hoping that by the time of the presentation this site will be visible in google when you search for successful thinkers. If it does, it will likely be a result of using the keywords successful thinkers in the url, title, content, and tags of each original post. Will continue to monitor…..

How Has Successful Thinkers Helped You?

About two months ago Robbi Ricks invited me to a Successful Thinkers meeting in Sacramento.

Since then, and through this single invitation, I have met several small business owners, have been able to help a few people out with blogging and computer problems, have had my business promoted by other members, and have gotten countless tips on everything from creating youtube videos to sales leads…. not to mention the opportunity to try some excellent coffee.

This blog was created as a case study for an Arden Arcade Successful Thinkers presentation to be given on January 13th 2010….

If you are a blogger that attends the Arden Arcade Successful Thinkers meeting, here is an opportunity to help the group and promote your blog at the same time. First, a quick overview of the presentation:

Objectives of the presentation:

Demonstrate how easy it is to set up WordPress to use as a blog or content management system for your business.
Demonstrate how WordPress can be used to connect people and organizations.
Demonstrate how WordPress can be used to make your business visible in search engines.

How you can help:

I am trying to recruit bloggers to help me demonstrate #2: how wordpress can be used to connect people and organizations and #3: how wordpress can be used to make your business visible in search engines.

If you are a blogger and a Successful Thinker, please contact me so that I can make you an author on this blog. Once you have author credentials, please write a post on this blog about something that you have learned or gained as a member of successful thinkers.
